Barcelona have signed Sassuolo forward Kevin-Prince Boateng on a six-month loan deal. The Blaugrana needed a replacement for Munir El Hadadi, and have now made the Ghana international their first January signing.

Gossip of Barca’s interest in Boateng became known in the early  morning of Monday and, by evening, Boateng was denounced as a player of the Catalan side.

Here is what the 31 years old said after the announcement.
"I'm very happy. It's a big honour to be here and have the possibility to play for this great club," Boateng told Barca TV."For every kid who starts to play football I think it is a dream to play for a club like Barcelona, so for every player and especially for me it's a big dream come true."

The German-born Ghanaian is very experienced player in Europe and has participated in many top leagues. Boateng formerly  played in the English Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth; in the Serie A for AC Milan and Sassuolo; and in the Bundesliga for Schalke, Herta Berlin, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.

He  has also participated in Spanish La Liga, where he impressively scored 10 goals.

It is rumored  that he will be a support to Luis Suarez, but is expected to give the squad the much needed depth as Barca tries to challenge on all fronts.

Additionally, the Spanish champions have the choice to make the move permanent for a £7.1m fee in the summer. As the signing of Boateng was a surprise, many fans have headed to Twitter to express their feelings or opinions.

Let's look at some of the best tweet.
